Warnings can include unavailable employees, approved leave, overlapping shifts, maximum weekly hours, insufficient rest and excessive consecutive working days.
Warnings versus hard blocks
Some situations, such as an overlapping assignment, should not be silently accepted. Other warnings can allow a manager override where that is appropriate, with the override recorded.
